Tyres Claerhout

Family business since the 1970s

Banden Claerhout is a family business founded in the early 1970s by the late Luc Claerhout and Marie Therese Verbrugghe. From the beginning, the company was known for quality and passion for cars.

The Pioneer: Luc Claerhout

Luc Claerhout was a real pioneer in Flanders. He specialised in equipping cars with the perfect combination of tyres and rims. This way, he gave every car a sporty look and improved its performance on the road. His greatest passion was rallying, in which he achieved numerous top results. Thanks to his reputation, customers from all over Belgium and even abroad came to Banden Claerhout.

Growth and expansion

In 1982, the business moved to Avelgem to accommodate further growth. In the early 1990s, the eldest son, the late Dieter Claerhout, joined the family business, followed by his brother Jochen Claerhout.

Current Leadership and Affiliates

Jochen Claerhout has been the current manager since 1999. Under his leadership, Banden Claerhout opened a second branch in Olsene (Zulte). This allows us to serve our clients even better, with two locations spread across the region.

Summer tyres

The unique rubber compound gives summer tyres a better grip on the road during warmer periods. Moreover, summer tyres wear less quickly than winter or all-season tyres during these periods. A summer tyre's coarser tread also increases grip at higher temperatures.

Winter tyres are not adapted to summer conditions. Continuing to drive on winter tyres in summer is less safe and more expensive. At higher temperatures, the rubber of winter tyres becomes too soft. This affects grip and increases wear. We therefore recommend fitting summer tyres from 15 March onwards.
